Apple Butter Bars
I don't know what it is about fall and baking. They just seem to go together. I made these Applebutter Bars the other day and they were So-o-o-o good! I thought I would share the recipe with you (in case you wanted to do a little fall baking of your own).
This recipe uses one of my favorite "Thyme-saving" mixes......Oatmeal Mix. Mix up a batch of it....You're going to LOVE it! It's SO versatile!
Applebutter Bars-
Crust-
3 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup margarine
Filling-
2 cups Applebutter (or use your favorite jam/fruit preserves)
Topping-
1-1/2 cups Oatmeal Mix
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 10x15 jellyroll pan. In a large bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar and salt. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle mixture over the prepared pan and press firmly. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool. Spread Applebutter evenly over crust.
Sprinkle Oatmeal Mix over Applebutter. Bake an additional 25 minutes or until Oatmeal topping is golden. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

These look so good! I don't have any apple butter but I have plenty of jam that needs to be used soon. I'm hosting a cookie blog hop on Wednesday 12/4 and I'd love to have you share this post.
