Scrappy Self-Striping Yarn
Over at the Simply Notable group, we recently had a "Ball of Wonder" swap. In recently, I mean January.....would that be considered recently? Above is the yarn I received (along with some other great goodies!) from Melanie. Isn't it pretty? The fun part of this swap is you make the ball of yarn from scraps of stash yarn!
You heard me right. You make the ball of yarn from your scraps! Using this tutorial from Fresh Stitches, gather up your odds and ends of yarn of the same weight and similar fiber content. Then, just start joining 5 to 25 yard pieces of yarn by using the Russian join.
It's a GREAT way to bust down that stash!
It might be a bit addictive, too!
Happy Stash-busting!
