Just Checking In

Can you believe it? Spring is almost here! Which leads us to the question....where have I been all winter? My last post was Christmas 2015. Almost 3 months have come and gone without a word.....that needs to change.

Easy to Grow Perennials - Spring Blooming Bulbs

It won't be long now (it is almost July!), and the fall bulbs will start showing up in your local garden centers. I feel like this is kind of confusing for some people (I can't tell you how many customers I have to explain this to). Fall bulbs are planted in the fall. But. They come up and bloom in the Spring. You would think they would be called Spring bulbs. But, they're not. They're called Fall bulbs, because you buy and plant them in the fall.

A Little Spring Planting

We've been having very nice temperatures here in eastern Oregon (and by saying that, I apologize to the rest of the country that's been bombarded with snow). I couldn't stand it anymore. I NEEDED to get something planted outside. Before I could plant anything, I had to do a little clean-up.

April Fools!

Here's what we woke up to this morning. What?!?!?! Snow?!?!?! That's right. Mother Nature has pulled an April Fool's joke on us. Basically, no snow all winter (because doesn't everyone want their snow in Spring?). It's okay though, we'll take anything we can get. Hopefully the mountains are getting PILES of the white stuff. That way there will be plenty of water for the farmers later this summer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Even though the weatherman predicted the snow for today (he's been saying that ALL winter).....we had been having pretty nice temperatures all of last week (65-70F daytime temps). Needless to say, I was kind of shocked to see this today.
