What I'm Working On & Reading......

One of the best things hubby and I did last year (2014) was get our local library cards. I don't know why we hadn't done that before. But. we hadn't. We've really been enjoying all the books and CDs we've been checking out. Last week I found these two gems to check out. Canning for a New Generation by Liana Krissof and Canning and Preserving Without Sugar by Norma M. MacRae, R.D.

I've really been inspired by some of the recipes in these books. I'm not sure if it's odd to read cookbooks, but it seemed like I should check these out now. I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to find canning books during "canning season". So, I'm gathering new recipes now (during winter).

I also started knitting this Heart Dishcloth for our January dishcloth diva at Simply Notable Group. I started it on the 19th and the way my projects have been going, I HOPE I can get it finished by the end of this month!

I've also been working on this Pizzazz 12" Block for the wedding afghan. January is almost over and I really need to get SERIOUS about making some progress on it!!!!

Well, that's what I've been working on/reading. What have you been working on/reading?

Happy crafting/reading!

  1. I have the Canning For A New Generation book - after borrowing it from the library and loving it so much, I decided to buy it. I love knitting dishcloths. I like to knit something so wonderfully practical and I use them all the time. The heart one looks lovely.

  2. I agree, it's a GREAT book! I'm thinking I may want to buy a copy also. You should join our Simply Notable group, We knit dishcloths every month and each month a lucky recipient (diva) receives all the dishcloths. It's very fun!

  3. I have never tried canning food but I do knit! Thank you so much for sharing such great patterns. I'm going to try and make the Heart Dishcloth.
