It's the first day of July and it's time to get started knitting or crocheting 12-inch blocks for JCCF. The blocks are used to create blankets to comfort injured rodeo athletes through the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. This month's color of the month is red, white and blue. I'm not going to lie, these are probably my favorite colors to knit or crochet blocks for JCCF with.
The ladies at the JCCF group chose the colors of red, white and blue for the month of July not only to celebrate the 4th, but also because those colors are also represented in the sport of rodeo. So, with that in mind, I put together this red, white and blue pocketed project bag......
AND. I'm going to give it away to one lucky person. How do you qualify? You just have to knit or crochet one 12-inch block (or 4 6-inch blocks joined together to make a 12-inch block) and send the block to JCCF. Be sure to post a photo of your block in this thread so everyone can see the block you made. That's it. You would be qualified. And. One lucky person will be drawn the first of August (that gives you the entire month of July to get a block done) and then I'll ship out the bag shortly after. If you need some block inspiration, here's a few (red, white and blue) blocks I've made in the past......
Okay, I hope to see lots of red, white and blue blocks showing up in the July 2015 Block/Color of the Month thread. I think it would be fun if we got enough blocks that Wendy could put together an ENTIRE red, white and blue afghan.....wouldn't that be FABULOUS?!?!?!
Are you still sitting there? Go grab your hooks and needles and get stitching!
Happy Knit and Crochet!
You know...I am continually amazed at finding new-to-me groups on Ravelry. I just checked out your links and have learned about something I previously had no knowledge of. That is a great project bag and I hope you rustle up a lot of squares with this offer. I especially like the first square you posted a picture of. :^)
