Recently I saw this post for making Candy Cane Vodka. M-m-m-m-m-m-m. It sounded so good. I've also been wanting to make some Kahlua for some gifts. I got to thinking.....wouldn't adding candy canes to the Kahlua be good? So. That's just what I did!
In case you need some last minute gifts of spirits here's the recipe.
Kandy Kane Kahlua
Ingredients-
4 cups strong brewed coffee
4 cups sugar
1/2 stick large (or 2 standard size) candy cane
1 tsp. peppermint extract
1 quart Vodka
Boil together coffee, candy cane and sugar until candy cane is completely melted. Stirring often to keep candy cane from sticking to the pan. Add peppermint extract. Cool completely. Add Vodka. This a quick method and can be used immediately. Yield- 1/2 gallon.
