An Invitation to Crochet with JCCF
I've been working on this Simple Filet Crochet Starburst Square for JCCF. Maybe you're wondering, what IS JCCF? We're a group that knit or crochet 12-inch blocks that will be made into blankets to give comfort to injured rodeo athletes.
Of course, we're actually much more than that. Because, like most Ravelry groups, we also like to have swaps and KAL/CALs and contests and fun! But. Our main goal is to work on blocks to send to Wendy so she can make BEAUTIFUL blankets for the athletes.
For 2015, we will be knitting/crocheting blocks every month in our Block of the Month. Here's how it works. Knit or crochet a 12-inch block of your choosing, using that month's color of the month. Use 100% acrylic or a washable (superwash) wool. Post a photo of your block that will be sent to Wendy for the blankets in the month's thread. For instance, here's February's thread. For everyone who posts a photo of a block they will be sending, will qualify to be entered in a random drawing for that month's prize (just a bit of incentive). We'd LOVE for everyone to make more than one block, however, we want the contest to be fair for everyone, so, more blocks doesn't mean more chances (does that make sense?). Each person will get one chance, no matter how many blocks were made, as not everyone can make a bunch of blocks.
So, what will the prize be? This is the prize for February.......
This Bandana print stitch marker holder (and markers). So, if you want to qualify to win this, All you have to do, is.......Join JCCF (if you're not already a member). Then. Knit or crochet a 12-inch block that you can send (at the end of the month) to Wendy for blankets. Post a photo of your block (and a link, if possible) and that's it! You're qualified!
I hope to see you over at JCCF!
Happy Knitting /Crocheting!
Lori
