Sewing with Knits
Even though I'm working on hubby's vest #2 (trying to get it completed before Valentine's day), I want to also make some new knit tops for me. If you read either this post or this post, I'm sure you're thinking, has she ever sewn before? Actually, I've sewn A LOT! Over 40 years. Here's my point.....sometimes things go wrong in sewing. Sometimes what you're sure will fit, just doesn't. Or you just can't get something to lay like it should. And. It's frustrating. But, you can't let it get you down. Because there can be so much success also!
Which leads me to this. I've found a few bloggers who are doing some series on Sewing with Knits. For some reason, it seems that some of you are afraid of knits. What?!?! Sewing with knits is one of the best things I ever learned! And. I've become a hoarder of knits. So, I dug out a few of my favorite knits and t-shirt patterns and I want any of you who think you can't sew with knits (or any of you who LOVE to sew with knits) to check out Sewing with Knits Series with Leslie from The Seasoned Homemaker. Every Monday through the month of February, she will be guiding us through sewing with knits. Even if you're like me and have been sewing with knits for a long time, it never hurts to go back to the basics. I find I ALWAYS learn something new! So, if you have a chance, check out the series, get yourself down to the fabric store (or your stash) and let's do some sewing with knits!
Happy Sewing!
