Projects from the Heart
When I was making this heart-shaped stitch marker pouch for the February Block of the Month Prize, I wanted to use the tutorial from this pin. But. When I visited the site, it didn't go straight to the tutorial. It went to the page of ALL of her sewing tutorials. And. I didn't want to take the time to find the tutorial (when I get the chance to sew, I want to sew.....not search). I figured, how hard could it be to just wing it? It took a couple of tries, but I got a pouch I was pretty happy with.
To go with the pouch, I also made these stitch markers. The unique stitch marker sort of has a heart shape to it.....
If you want a chance to qualify to win the markers/pouch you should join JCCF and knit or crochet a 12-inch block that you would send in for the blankets we make for injured rodeo athletes. The details are in this thread.
Keeping with the heart-shaped theme, I also completed this Heart dishcloth for the January dishcloth diva over at the Simply Notable Group. The dishcloth is on it's way to Julie (since she was January's diva). If you like to knit or crochet dishcloths, you should get in on February's dishcloth diva. You MIGHT be the winner of all the dishcloths knit/crocheted for the month of February.....
I had some other heart-shaped projects I wanted to get made for Valentine's day, but, I don't think they're going to get done (Valentine's day will be here before we know it!).
I got hubby's vest (this is actually attempt #2....see the epic fail of vest #1 in this post) cut out and am hoping I might get it completed by Valentine's day......maybe.
It's going to help if I can get the cats to stop "helping me"!
In case you have time for a quick Valentine's knit, you might check out my Valentine's gift to you for the Gotta Have Heart Chart and my favorite beanie recipe.
Happy Valentine's crafting!

It is all gorgeous! I love that heart dishcloth.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are all super cute. Love the pouch and love the vest second attempt. My husband is a vest guy too. I will check back to see your final project.
